Harefield Hospital

Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a part time Consultant in Palliative Medicine at the Harefield Hospital. The post is a new post; it is a part time Consultant in Palliative Medicine.

The successful applicant will provide senior medical support to the established nurse led Specialist Supportive and Palliative Care Service (SSPC), based at Harefield Hospital. The appointee will work closely with the Royal Brompton Hospital as part of the integrated SSPC team. Occasional travel to Royal Brompton Hospital may be required.

The appointee will join an established nurse led specialist supportive and palliative care team. The post is as a lone consultant in the speciality working with several other consultants who cater for aspects of generic palliative care

The appointee will have shared care/ advisory inpatient responsibilities. There is a wider network group of Consultants in Palliative Medicine from each national heart and lung transplant centre that meet for peer support and shared learning.

Applicants are required to be fully registered Medical Practitioners and must be on the GMC’s Specialist Register or be eligible for admission to the Register within six months from date of interview for the post.
