Consultant in Emergency Department
Programmed Activities: 10PA’s
(additional Programmed Activities may be available)
At MKUH we are committed to delivering the best possible care and experience for every patient, every time. We have recently been rated as ‘good’ overall by the CQC. As a teaching hospital, we have formed strong ties to the University of Buckingham’s Medical School, to support our mission for excellence.
As a busy and dynamic Accident and Emergency Department, seeing over 88,000 patients a year, we remain in the top segment of Acute Trusts in the UK for achieving our 4 hour target. We have a fully equipped Category 1 department and are a level 2 accredited trauma provider.
MKUH is continually expanding with a new cancer centre opening early in 2020 and plans for a new funded acute assessment unit taking shape. This exciting new phase and expansion means additional opportunities for under- and post-graduate teaching as well as enhanced research facilities and a potential for links with the growing academic department of Emergency Medicine in Oxford. If you’re interested in research and teaching, then there will be opportunities to develop your portfolio in Milton Keynes.
We are looking for a highly skilled clinician who strives to deliver excellent patient care and thrives on team work to join our dynamic team.
We will seek to accommodate sub – specialty interests in paediatric or geriatric ED, or in pre-hospital emergency care, along with research and teaching interests. Applications from established consultants with an interest in leadership roles within the department and the wider Trust are particularly welcome.
Unfortunately, only short listed applicants will be contacted. Candidates with a disability that meet the minimum criteria will be guaranteed an interview. Disclosure and Baring Service Checks may be required for new employees.
We are committed to equal opportunities and welcome applications from all sections of the community. Milton Keynes is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
