Consultant Urological Surgeon
Appointees will join a team of:
4 consultants, 3 middle grades, 3 juniors and 6 specialist nurses.
The Trust and its clinicians are committed to engaging in Greater Manchester’s program of transformation of urological services and as a result are fostering close working arrangements with Royal Bolton Hospital Trust and some sessions or on call cover may take place within that trust in the foreseeable future, pending creation of a single shared in patient site for urology.
This post will initially include participation in a 1 in 4 on call rota weekdays and 1 in 8 weekends due to shared out of hours on call arrangements with our Bolton colleagues.
This is a replacement post to help the department continue to deliver a high quality service across the broad range of urological disease and to meet all the separate elements of the government targets.
Applicants should have comprehensive experience and training in Urology. They should be competent in all aspects of core urology and should be willing and able to develop an interest to complement the needs of the department. We have some flexibility in which specialities could be accommodated.
WWL NHS Trust, combining hospital and community services, serves a population of 325,000 on the western edge of Greater Manchester. This post will involve planned sessional work at Leigh Infirmary and Royal Albert Edward Infirmary Wigan.
