Applications are invited for a Clinical Research Fellow - Blood-Stage Malaria Vaccine Programme to join Professor Simon Draper’s blood-stage malaria vaccine development group at the Centre for Clinical Vaccinology and Tropical medicine, Jenner Institute, University of Oxford.
 
This role is focused on designing and executing clinical trials of malaria vaccines and human malaria challenge studies in Oxford. You will work closely with Chief Investigator, project managers, nurses, recruitment coordinator and data manager to maintain high quality in the design and conduct of clinical trials. You will be involved in screening and vaccination of volunteers and analyse and manage the data, maintaining complete and accurate study files. You will also be expected to present the results in various formats to different audiences.
 
You will have completed your Foundation Year 1 and 2 training, and you will be fully GMC registered and permitted to practice medicine in the UK. Knowledge of immunology and/or holding a MRCP or MRCS would be an advantage.
 
You must be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and highly equipped in IT skills. This post requires flexibility in the hours worked, as some out of hours work is required (especially during challenge studies) but this can be taken back as time off in lieu. Experience working with clinical studies, including ethics, GCP, documentation would be desirable as would previous laboratory experience relevant to malaria or infectious disease research.
