Extensive prior experience in this speciality is not essential.
This post is suitable for junior doctors wishing to apply in the future for core surgical or other specialty training programmes (including general practice and radiology), and for those who are as yet undecided as to their future career path. Advice and support with regard to applications to future training can also be offered.
The post will not have recognised educational approval, but will have similar supervision, study leave and annual leave as that of a recognised training post.
