Consultant in Diabetes & Endocrinology/GIM (EH)
We are committed to providing healthcare of the highest quality and wish to attract candidates of the highest calibre. The post holder will be predominantly based at the Ealing Hospital site, however due to changes in service provision the post holder may be expected to work on other sites operated by the trust including Central Middlesex Hospital, Northwick Park Hospital and community sites.
The diabetes service at Ealing is dominated by the high prevalence of diabetes in the South Asian population in our locality. The clinical service is supported by diabetes specialist nurses and two experienced specialty doctors. There are sub-specialty clinics for patients with diabetes including specialist foot service, diabetic foot MDT, young adults and insulin pump therapy. We would welcome candidates with an interest in managing diabetic foot ulcers and Charcot arthropathy.
A wide range of endocrine disorders are seen within dedicated clinics including benign thyroid disease, thyroid lumps, lipid disorders, calcium disorders, adrenal and pituitary disease. We have access to regional MDT’s in thyroid, pituitary and adrenal diseases. Radio-iodine for benign thyroid disorders is available at both the Northwick Park and Central Middlesex Hospital sites within the trust.
The post-holder will be expected to contribute to the ongoing care of general medicine inpatients on a rotational basis with other consultants.
