Consultant Physician/Nephrologist Renal Medicine
Applications are invited to apply for a post as a Consultant Physician/Nephrologist at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
This is a joint post with the Oxford Kidney Unit. Oxford University Hospitals (OUH) NHS Foundation Trust operate a range of renal services from the Milton Keynes Hospital Site. The appointee will have nephrology duties under the auspices of the Oxford Kidney Unit (5 PA) along with general medicine duties. Four other nephrologists, employed by OUH, have regular commitments on the Milton Keynes Hospital Site.
This is a new post. Additional programmed activities may be available upon agreement and would be encouraged.
The successful applicant will be expected to participate in teaching both under and postgraduate students associated with the University of Buckingham and will also be expected to support colleagues doing these activities as part of his or her arranged job plan.

Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, in partnership with the University of Buckingham, is a University Teaching Hospital; we conduct research and teaching on site to improve the care of our patients. There are significant opportunities in the field of medical education both in the delivery and organisation of teaching. A teaching and research background would be highly advantageous when applying for this position.
The hospital is undergoing significant investment and development including a new surgical ward, a new main entrance (allowing expansion of A&E services), a new Academic Centre and a planned new Cancer Centre.
