 Full Time (10 Sessions)

Anticipated Start Date: as soon as possible

Closing Date for Applications: Midnight on (30th October 2019

Applications are invited for this new Specialty Doctor post in Old Age Liaison Psychiatry with a special interest in Memory Clinic. The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary service based at the modern local general hospital Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr (YYF) in Ystrad Mynach, Caerphilly.

The main focus of clinical duties will be as part of the Older Adult Psychiatric Liaison (OAPL) service, assessing and managing older people with co-morbid physical and mental health problems admitted to general hospital wards. The successful candidate will become a valuable senior member of the OAPL service, working to deliver high quality care to older patients admitted to general hospital. The post holder will be required to work closely with the care of the elderly (geriatric medicine) colleagues based at YYF.

To give further variety to the clinical role there is also a discrete Memory clinic component, working with the Caerphilly OACMHT & Memory Assessment Service also based at YYF.

The job planning will give ample opportunities for the post holder to advance their Psychiatric career and to develop additional specific interests, both clinical and non-clinical.

As there will be a requirement to sometimes attend other hospital sites in Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, applicants must be able to fulfil the travel requirements of the post.

If you have the vision, enthusiasm, commitment and team working skills that can meet the exciting and varied challenge of this role then your application will be most welcome.
