Specialty Doctor in Neurodevelopmental Paediatrics
Part Time (6 PA) Specialty Doctor in Neurodevelopmental Paediatrics, Child Development Centre
The Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services from one acute hospital in Guildford and two adult community services hospitals across Surrey. We employ over 4,000 staff and serve over two million people locally and regionally. We have recently been rated as ‘Good; by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and ‘Outstanding’ for being responsive to people’s needs and for our maternity services and ‘Good’ for being caring, effective and safe. We believe that our people are the key to this success and the fact that going the extra mile is inbuilt within our teams.
We offer a full range of paediatric or children’s services in dedicated child and family friendly environments. Children are seen in separate emergency departments and outpatient department areas by medical and nursing staff specially trained in paediatrics.
Our Child Development Centre (CDC) offers neurodevelopmental assessments when parents or professionals have concerns about a child’s development. We have an experienced and supportive team including paediatricians, paediatric psychology and speech and language therapy. We work very closely with colleagues in education and social care.
We are looking to appoint a part-time Specialty Doctor to work within the Child Development Team to support the assessment of children with neurodevelopmental and social communication difficulties.
This is a part time post with no on-call requirement. Due to the nature of the work, a flexible working pattern may be possible with more clinical work in term times and less in school holidays.
This is a one year fixed term contract post in the first instance.
