Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust wishes to invite applications for the post of a Radiologist with an interest in Breast Imaging.
The post has arisen as a result of a vacancy in addition to service development and expansion.
This post is available from as soon as possible and is offered on a full-time basis, 10 PA. Applications for part time or flexible working would also be considered.
The post holder will be expected to take on an integral role in all aspects of breast screening and symptomatic imaging.
While ideally, the applicant will be trained in breast screening, individuals with training only in symptomatic breast imaging will be considered. Training and mentoring in breast screening work will be supported by the department if required. The Breast Screening and Symptomatic Services are provided by the Parapet Breast Unit which is a dedicated, stand-alone breast outpatient and imaging facility located in the historic town of Windsor with easy access to London and Heathrow.
This has been established since the inception of the NHS Breast Screening Programme and is acknowledged as a flagship service for the Trust and has an outstanding local reputation for providing a high quality service.
The Breast Imaging Service has consistently met the National Screening Targets and was commended at the last QA visit for many areas of good practice.
We consistently meet the 2 ww referrals, 31 and 62 day breast cancer targets.
The successful candidate will be joining a sociable, established and motivated team of four consultant breast radiologists, one Associate Specialist and three advanced practitioners.
The post holder will be primarily based at the Parapet Unit where all film reading, breast symptomatic and assessment clinics and the MDT are undertaken.
There is the option of working solely within the breast service or to combine this role with the main radiology department. This can be negotiated with the Chief of Service prior to taking up the post.
The General Radiology and on call service is based at Wexham Park Hospital in Slough and Heatherwood Hospital in Ascot.
Candidates wishing to apply must be registered with the General Medical Council with a license to practise and be on the Specialist Register or be eligible to be on the Specialist Register within 6 months of the date of the Advisory Appointments Committee.
