Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry
Applications are invited for a Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry based in the city of Portsmouth, Hampshire.
The Older Persons Mental Health services in Portsmouth are pleased to announce a full time job opportunity with community and inpatient clinical responsibilities for one of the catchment area in this historic island city.
The post will attract candidates wishing to be able to provide a well-resourced, clinically led, local community-focussed service, with continuity of care, as part of a wider integrated health and social care service, and with opportunities for training and service development. Portsmouth Older Persons Mental Health services have one of the highest recorded rates of diagnosis of dementia in south of England.
The role will entail assessment, diagnosis and treatment of organic and functional disorders in over 65s, although younger adults meeting certain eligibility criteria on the local transitional protocol may be suitable for the service.
