Consultant in Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare with a specialist interest in Unplanned Pregnancy Services

This post offers an exciting opportunity to join a highly motivated team of health professionals providing high quality Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare across the life course model to the population of Hywel Dda University Health board (HDUHB).

This is a replacement post and the post holder will lead on delivering high quality unplanned pregnancy services within HDUHB. You will join colleagues in a dynamic and forward looking Sexual and Reproductive Health Service which is currently undergoing significant development including the opening of a new facility within Carmarthen.

The SRH services include

  1. Development and delivery of a comprehensive 5 day SRH service across three counties, offering complex contraception, smear tests, STI diagnosis and management, PrEP and PEPSE, emergency contraception and post reproductive healthcare
  2. Development and delivery of a Community Gynaecology Pathway with access to onsite ultrasound facilities
  3. Complex Contraception/LARC
  4. PAS across three counties with MVA facilities
  5. Home based Early Medical Abortion Service
  6. Development of teaching, training, audit and research within the organisation

Following the review of sexual health services across Wales and completion of the Sexual Health Improvement Plan and Audit tool there is potential for service-wide developments and a closer liaison with primary care and social services. The post-holder would play a key role in implementing recommendations from PHW and this ongoing development work.
