About our role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of our Gastroenterology service at Hutt Valley DHB. This is an excellent opportunity as we are part of the first wave of the national bowel screening programme with Hutt Valley being one of the first DHBs in the country to lead this change.

We are seeking either a specialist Gastroenterologist who is keen on providing inpatient consults, endoscopy and outpatient services or a Gastroenterologist who would like to combine this with a General Physician role. Our position is a permanent full-time role.

Hutt Valley DHB works in close partnership with our neighbouring DHBs, Wairarapa and Capital and Coast, to ensure a more coordinated sub-regional approach to delivering care to our communities.

Our organisation and region

Working at the Hutt Valley DHB you will become part of an enthusiastic, dynamic and committed team of health workers providing a modern and innovative approach to healthcare, with the bonus of a healthy, balanced lifestyle and opportunities for professional development. Hutt Valley DHB provides secondary services for a population of approximately 148,000, as well as being the tertiary centre for regional plastic, maxillofacial and burns services, the regional rheumatology and school dental services and the greater Wellington public health and breast screening services.

Only 15 minutes from the Wellington CBD, the Hutt Valley is home to many outdoor attractions and a haven for art lovers and beach goers.
