The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust has recently undergone major transformation and reconfiguration. The Trust and Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust have joined together to create a new Group of hospitals (The Northern Care Alliance) to deliver a variety of local healthcare services.
Four Care Organisations (Oldham, Bury/Rochdale, North Manchester and Salford) have been created to provide local leadership with the aim to
build strong relationships with the local social care and health providers. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection in October/November 2017 found the Medical Service at Fairfield General Hospital has improved by two ratings to outstanding. This rates the medical services at Fairfield General Hospital to be one of the best in Greater Manchester and amongst the best in the country. As a site, Fairfield General Hospital is now rated as Good.
