Specialty Doctor - Bristol Inpatient Service, Lime ward
Applications are invited for the post of Specialty Doctor to work in the General Adult Inpatient Service on Lime Ward at Callington Road Hospital. Callington Road Hospital is situated in the South of the City of Bristol.
The site was opened in June 2006. It has staff and visitor parking on site and the site is located next to the local cycle paths. Some local bus routes run directly to the hospital. Just 0.5 miles away from the hospital is a bus stop, which will take you directly into the City Centre.
This post involves responsibility for managing inpatients under the care of the full time Consultant who works solely on Lime ward in Callington Road Hospital. The post holder will work alongside trainees, currently a CT1 and F2 and higher psychiatric trainee (ST).
The ward has 23 male beds has a very stable staffing team and excellent reputation. There are approximately 4-5 new admissions/ week with average stay 4-6 weeks. The post holder will be expected to support ward reviews, attend multidisciplinary team meetings and liaise with the community and crisis teams under CPA policy.
The post holder will be supported to write tribunal reports and attend MHRT subject to appropriate experience. There are also opportunities to develop a special interest in clinical work, current examples being dual diagnosis, ECT, psychotherapy, liaison and eating disorders.
There will be regular supervision from the substantive Consultant and weekly journal clubs and academic meetings the post holder can attend. There is no on-call with this post but there may be the opportunity to join the out of hours full shift rota.
