Our Purpose

The Canterbury District Health Board systematically plan, fund and deliver care to almost 600,000 people that live in the Canterbury region. The Canterbury Health System is a world leader in the delivery of integrated health care. Our main focus is placing people (staff and patients alike) at the centre of everything we do.

The Team

Our Cardiology Department is dedicated to outstanding excellence, resulting in our patients receiving care that is second to none, and for our practitioners, it means that they obtain maximum opportunity to apply and develop their skills and abilities - to really make their mark.

The Role

Our Cardiology Department provides secondary and tertiary level inpatient, outpatient, and consultation service. We are currently looking for applications for our Echo Fellowship to commence as soon as possible.

You will be exposed to and have hands on involvement with the full range of echocardiography including dobutamine and exercise stress echo, transoesophageal echo, intra-operative TOE, contrast studies and echo guidance of intervention and device placement. We will also support the development of your reporting skills.

You will participate in one general Cardiology clinic per week and participation in the out of hour's roster for the Service will also be part of this position.
