Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust provides
high quality, accessible and responsive community and specialist services
within Birmingham and the West Midlands. We deliver over 100 clinical
services, out in people’s homes and in over 300 hospitals, health centres
and clinics. We provide services for adults, children, people with learning
disabilities, those with rehabilitation needs and also dental services.
The Learning Disabilities Division is benefiting from its second successive
year of additional investment. This is enabling an on-going program of
remodelling and expansion of services. Our community focus coupled
with expansion of established community forensic and intensive support
teams leave us well placed to meet the challenges arising from the
Transforming Care agenda. We welcome applications from clinical
leaders who are motivated to support the multidisciplinary team in the
delivery excellent and innovative care for the population that we serve.
The post holder will join 8 other consultant psychiatrists for people
with intellectual disability who work with integrated multidisciplinary
teams to meet the specialist healthcare needs of the population of
approximately 1.1 million.
As the UK’s second city Birmingham is an attractive place to live and work. It
has excellent transport links by road, rail and air travel. The city is a regional
centre for shopping and leisure. It has a culturally diverse community and
this is reflected in the range of international cuisine on offer.
