East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust (ELHT) are seeking to employ a highly skilled consultant with specialist interest in Lung and Colorectal Medical Oncology to join our team. The successful candidate will work alongside a team of clinical and medical oncologists from both the Cancer Centre at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and our own ELHT Consultant Medical Oncologists. They will have the opportunity to lead in the development of Lung and Colorectal Oncology services with ample opportunity to input into the wider development of the oncology directorate at our Trust.

ELHT provides a range of health care services primarily for the people of East Lancashire, which comprises of the Boroughs of Blackburn, Burnley, Hyndburn, Pendle, Ribble Valley and Rossendale.  Our Trust aims to provide appropriate, high-quality personal and organisational development interventions, which will improve patient care.  The Trust is one of the busiest in the UK providing services to a population of 520,000 people.  We are part of the Lancashire and South Cumbria Cancer Alliance whose aim is to work collaboratively across the region to transform cancer services and improve outcomes for patients.

We provide a comprehensive range of secondary care facilities covering all major tumour groups and are also a tertiary referral and treatment centre for hepato-biliary, head and neck and urological cancers.  We have two modern Chemotherapy Suites and three senior acute oncology nurses providing a 7-day nursing service. We also have a fully established team of MDT Coordinators, Cancer Nurse Specialists, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Clinical Psychology Service and Speciality Doctors.
