Specialty Doctor Ambulatory Medicine
This post has been created to support the established Ambulatory Unit at the Ulster Hospital while allowing the successful candidate to develop a subspecialty interest through attendance at subspecialty outpatient clinics.
This is a full time post, however applications from practitioners who wish to contract for a reduced number of planned activities, or on a job share basis are welcome.
The post holder will undertake two subspecialty outpatient clinics per week and input on a daily basis to medical day case unit which provides a wide variety of medical infusions and procedures. There will be the opportunity to develop a subspecialty interest through attendance at subspecialty clinics
The post-holders will be clinically supervised on a day to day basis by consultant physician who will also provide support and mentoring
It is essential that the post holder is committed to working alongside colleagues in other specialities in order to enhance and support services provided through the Ambulatory Medical Unit.
The holder of the post will be expected to work within the Medical Directorate structure, which is led by the Clinical Director. This will mean attendance at Directorate meetings and willingness to progress developments or quality initiatives agreed by the Directorate.
Taking part in subspecialty clinics along with ambulatory medicine work.
The post holder will have the opportunity to train in a variety of medical procedures performed in an ambulatory setting.
Taking part in undergraduate and postgraduate education as appropriate.
Participating in medical audit and continuing professional development.
Participating in the weekly Multiprofessional Meeting.
