Consultant Gastroenterologist with an interest in Endoscopy
Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Gastroenterologist with an interest in Endoscopy. This is an exciting new post established to support rising demand within the Endoscopy service.
The successful candidate will join a team of 12 Gastroenterologists (one academic) and four Consultant Hepatologists (two academic) within the Health Board. The post holder will work with GI directorate staff to further develop endoscopy services in Cardiff.
The department provides a comprehensive service for patients with gastrointestinal and liver disorders from Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, both at district level and as a tertiary centre
This post has been specifically established to support the increasing demand in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. University Hospital Llandough (UHL) is the regional referral centre for complex EMR and ESD of upper and lower GI tract lesions and for high risk genetically predisposed cases of GI cancer. It is also the national referral centre for complex polypectomy within the bowel cancer screening programme in Wales.
Applicants should either be on the Specialist Register or be a Specialist Registrar within six months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT / CESR(CP) at the time of interview.
