Consultant Forensic Pathologist or Autopsy Pathologist (2 Posts)

We have an opportunity for two successful candidates to assist in the service contract of the department in carrying out post mortem examinations and to contribute fully to its commitments to teaching and research. 

The department of Forensic Medicine is contracted to carry out post mortem examinations for the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) with the vast majority being within the purpose built mortuary at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

We are seeking applicants who hold FRCPath (Forensic Pathology) or FRCPath (Histopathology) plus a medico-legal qualification (DMJ or Dip For Path) or equivalent qualification(s) for appointment as a Forensic Pathologist OR FRCPath (Histopathology) with Certificate in Higher Autopsy Training or equivalent qualification(s) for appointment as an Autopsy Pathologist.  You are also required to have completed higher specialist training and be in possession of a Certificate of Completion of Training in Histopathology (sub-specialising in Forensic Pathology, or equivalent as appropriate for appointment as a Forensic Pathologist) or will obtain such a certification within six months of appointment.
