Consultant Psychiatrist - Staff Counselling and Well-Being Service

(Part-time 2 PA's/Friday - Permanent)

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrist, to work one day per week on a Friday in the Staff Counselling and Well-being Service. This is a specialist highly confidential service offered to all staff working in mental health settings in the Trust. You will contribute to ensuring staff with mental health problems or conditions remain at work with support or can be supported to return to work if off work due to underlying mental health issues. You will be contributing to a highly specialist Staff Counselling & Well-being service which will include assessment, planning, and monitoring of outcomes. You will receive referrals from Occupational Health and provide them with confidential reports following assessment which may include guidance about supporting the client in their working role. You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team and will make appropriate referrals to the senior Counselling/Clinical Psychologist for short-term therapeutic support.  

To fulfill the requirements of this role you will need to have Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent as well as Approval under section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983. You will need to demonstrate evidence of having worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist in Community Psychiatry and of working in a CMHT and to show that you have skills and expertise in risk assessment.
