Applications are invited for a whole time Clinical Fellow post (ST3+ level) in Cardiology. The post is available as soon as possible thereafter initially for 6 months, with the possibility to extend thereafter.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at Barts Heart Centre, which houses the services previously provided by The London Chest Hospital, St. Bartholomew’s Hospital and The Heart Hospital. The Barts Heart Centre provides tertiary level cardiac care to the population of north east and north central London.

There will be the opportunity to train in all cardiac imaging modalities. There will be a focus on cardiac MRI (CMR), cardiac CT and advanced echocardiography. There will be the opportunity to participate in heart failure services and the regional inherited cardiovascular disease service. There is also opportunity to participate in one of the world’s largest Cardio-Oncology services. Duties will include responsibilities within cardiac imaging for these services and include reporting of studies. There will be a need to be on call for some inpatients at the Barts Heart Centre and there may be some on call duties for cardiology patients at both University College Hospital and the Royal London Hospital.

The post is ideal for those who have previous experience in cardiology. It is suited to those who wish to develop an interest in cardiac imaging, and in particular cardiac MRI, cardiac CT or advanced echocardiography. Previous experience in cardiac imaging will be desirable but not essential. MRCP or equivalent will be required as is full GMC registration with a license to practice.
