Our Ophthalmology Department has recently successfully bid for, and been awarded £1 Million investment to help expand its services. As part of this investment, the Department has created a new role, and as such are seeking applications from suitably qualified Consultants with a range of potential sub-speciality interests including medical retina, glaucoma, ocular motility/neuro-ophthalmology, paediatric ophthalmology, uveitis and primary care.

The Ophthalmology Department is a diverse and thriving department with a current medical complement of nine consultants and five SAS doctors with a wide range of supporting allied health professionals. The Eye Unit is pioneering in many fields, including information technology, being a beacon site for Open Eyes. Many of our Consultants have been involved in the development of sub-specialty modules. The Department is a research-active department having been involved in Constance, Luminous, Aries, Clarity, Leavo, Eylea Questionnaire and Obtain studies.
