We are seeking an enthusiastic clinical director to lead our Radiology Department. This is an exciting role with a real opportunity to make a difference.

The role of the Clinical Director is a position of responsibility annexed to a substantive role of Specialist Radiologist. The Specialist Radiologist is a permanent role. The Clinical Director role is initially a fixed term of two years.

The successful candidate will be committed to clinical leadership and to working in partnership with the General Manager, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Medical Officer and other stakeholders to develop high quality radiology services. A strong interest in clinical governance, quality improvement and medical education are essential.

Northland District Health Board provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic imaging services for the Northland population. Over 100,000 procedures are undertaken annually by the service and a wide range of services and modalities are performed including X-Ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, mammography, fluoroscopy and basic interventional procedures. 

The radiology department at Whangarei Hospital has modern imaging equipment with two CT scanners (256 slice and 16 Slice) and a 1.5T MRI. 

Our Radiologists are multi-skilled and the development of a special interest is supported. Ongoing education is encouraged and supported. Multi-disciplinary meetings are held weekly with all specialities being involved which allows for a close collegial working environment.
