LOCUM CONSULTANT BREAST ONCOPLASTIC SURGEONS (10PA, 6 MONTHS)
Applications are invited for locum Consultant Breast Oncoplastic Surgeon posts to join our friendly team of consultants on a 10PA contract, working at Barts Health NHS Trust.

Barts Health NHS Trust provides services for the 1.5 million people of North-East London, and specialist services for patients from Essex and across the country.
Based at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital in the City of London, The St. Bartholomew’s Cancer Centre is a major tertiary referral centre for all forms of malignant disease in adults. In conjunction with the Institute of Cancer at Barts and the London, Queen Mary’s School of Medicine and Dentistry; our mission is to establish a major international centre of excellence in both cancer research and clinical cancer care on the West Smithfield site at Barts Hospital and in Charterhouse Square. The St. Bartholomew’s Cancer Centre encompasses Medical Oncology, Clinical Oncology & Radiotherapy, Haemato-Oncology, Palliative Care, Breast Surgery and Endocrinology.
The Breast Services for Barts Health are based at St Barts, Whipps Cross Hospital and Newham Hospital. The Breast Surgeons work in a friendly and enthusiastic multidisciplinary team which includes Radiologists, Pathologists, Oncologists and Clinical Nurse Specialists.
The Surgical Unit has a well-established referral base from North and East London. In addition to providing local care for women within Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Newham and Waltham Forest it also receives tertiary referrals from further afield. The unit boasts state-of the-art full field digital mammography units, a prone table and two vacuum assisted biopsy devices for image-guided vacuum-assisted biopsy and excision of suitable lesions. The Unit treats over 700 patients across our three sites at Barts, WXH and Newham with screen-detected and symptomatic breast cancers each year and undertakes a full range of oncoplastic procedures and reconstruction, with the exception of free flaps which are undertaken by linked Plastic Surgeons at The Royal London Hospital.
The post holder will mainly work on the St Bartholomew’s Hospital. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate professional excellence and the ability to deliver effective care. You must be registered with the GMC and on the GMC’s Specialist Register in Medical Oncology.
