This is an exciting opportunity for a consultant psychiatrist to join our newly established student mental health service across Greater Manchester. This is a substantive role in this exciting new Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Trust service.
The GM Universities Mental Health Service is a partnership with local higher education institutions (University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan University, Salford University, Bolton University and the Royal Northern College of Music), stakeholders including the GMCA Health & Social Care Partnership with support from local mental health organisation 42nd Street.
A two year pilot has been funded and the service is now being set up, with plans to start undertaking clinical work in autumn 2019. The postholder will need to take a flexible approach to their work and have the skills and experience necessary to shape and develop the service in conjunction with stakeholders, operational managers and clinical colleagues.
This is a 10 PA post. The postholder will be expected to use their SPA time to support service management and development. Clinical work will take place at the service base at the University of Manchester but also at other sites including Salford and Bolton, and so the postholder will need to be able to travel across all locations. The postholder will join the Manchester adult consultant on call rota.
