The Hampshire Perinatal Service has twice won UK Mental Health Team of the Year (2004 and 2013) and was assessed as ‘Outstanding’ on all measures by the CQC in 2015. We are an energetic, creative and happy team, who aim to offer and inspire excellence in community and inpatient perinatal mental health care. The 10 bed Winchester MBU, accredited by CCQI, admits women and babies from across the South and beyond. The community team includes psychologists, nursery nurses, social worker, nurses and psychiatrists and covers a population of about 24,000 births, with 6 main maternity units. The MBU and community components of the service are active participants in the National Perinatal Quality Network, and regularly contribute innovative work at national meetings and forums.
The service is delighted to be offering this consultant post. We look forward to welcoming an enthusiastic and able consultant who will build on achievements of the service to date in order to provide even better outcomes for the women and infants we serve. The post-holder will jointly serve the needs of patients across the service alongside two other consultants, 2 foundation doctors and a senior trainee.
For more information about the post and a visit to the service, please contact Dr Jo Spoors, Perinatal Consultant Lead or Chris Bailey, Perinatal Service manager (email@example.com; firstname.lastname@example.org).
