Consultant in General and UGI Surgery with specialist interest in Oesophagogastric Cancer
Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals is the regional teaching hospital, providing general acute services to Brighton and Hove and Mid Sussex and tertiary services for patients across Sussex and the south east of England. Working as one hospital across two sites in Brighton and Haywards Heath, we treat over half a million patients a year. The Royal Sussex County Hospital (RSCH) is currently undergoing a £450M site redevelopment, due for completion in the spring of 2021.
The Hospital is the regional Cancer Centre for Sussex, serving a catchment population of over 1.25 million and hosts the regional MDT for oesophagogastric cancer. We are seeking a consultant UGI surgeon with specialist interest in oesophagogastric surgery as a replacement post.
In January 2019, The Care Quality Commission (CQC) published its report following its recent inspection of Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals (BSUH). This showed a significant improvement in our rating to the second-highest possible: ‘Good’. It also rated the Trust as ‘Outstanding’ for caring Please refer to the person specification in the job description with regards to CCT requirements.

Please be aware you only have 12 months from your CCT to join the specialist registrar otherwise you will have to go through the CESR Route.
