Consultant Physician in Acute Medicine with specialty interest
University Hospitals Bristol NHS Trust has an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Physician in Acute Medicine with Specialty Interest, based at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. This is a new post designed to give a flexible job plan working with the acute medical team and the specialty team of choice for a successful applicant.
The trust is committed to develop its acute medical services, and we have made major investments and model of care recently. There is a three year commitment to further expansion and investment in acute services. The acute medical team work closely with the emergency department, frailty service and other specialty teams and the successful acute physician will join a highly motivated team in continuing to provide high quality care. The post holder will also work with our expanding team developing Same Day Emergency Care services at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. Their job plan would be negotiated to include their sub-specialty interest, including but not limited to Stroke, Respiratory, Gastroenterology and Care of the Elderly. They will have a rare opportunity to influence and shape future services and models of care.
The Bristol Royal Infirmary (BRI) is a major University Hospital and the new consultants will be committed to delivering excellent teaching and training. The BRI is situated in the city centre, co-located with the regional centres for Paediatrics, Dental Services, Ophthalmology, Oncology, Head and Neck Surgery, Cardiac Surgery and Cardiology and is adjacent to maternity service and the University of Bristol.
