Birmingham Women’s & Children's is seeking to appoint Clinical Fellows in Paediatric Ophthalmology & Ocular Motility
Fixed Term Post 1: 5th August 2020 – 3rd August 2021
Fixed Term Post 2: 5th Feb 2020 – 4th August 2020
Fixed Term Post 3: 5th Feb 2020 – 3rd August 2021 (18 months with first 6 months in Cheltenham & Gloucester, Mr Ferris, last 12 months at BWCH)
There may be scope to extend the terms of employment beyond those detailed above depending on demand, subject to discussion at interview.
Basic Salary: £31,217 - £49,086 per annum. This post has no on-call supplements.
Please note that this is not a deanery training post and is equivalent to TSC level.
This is an excellent training opportunity for a senior specialist registrar wishing to pursue a career in paediatric ophthalmology. Both pre- and post- CCST/CCT as well as overseas candidates are eligible to apply.
These posts provide training in secondary and tertiary paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus and also supra-regional services for paediatric cataract, glaucoma, oculoplastics, paediatric neuro-ophthalmology, genetics, uveitis, ROP and retinoblastoma care.
Prior experience in general ophthalmology to a level capable of independent surgical and clinical activity is expected. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the active clinical research programme.
There is opportunity to work with Mr Parulekar at the John Radcliffe, Oxford for training in complex ocular motility surgery.
