Applications are invited for the substantive post of Consultant in Cardiology to join the South West Cardiothoracic Centre (SWCC). The successful candidate will join twelve other Cardiology Consultants providing a full interventional service (24/7 primary PCI, IVUS, OCT, pressure wire and rotablation) as well as an EP/device service (AF ablation), pacemakers (brady pacing, CRT-D/P, S-ICDs, lead extractions), all modalities of non-invasive imaging (echo, CT, DSE, MRI) and TAVI. The post will contribute to the continued reduction in access times for all cardiac procedures, and maintain current levels of specialist Consultant Cardiology input into inpatient-care.

Applicants should have a broad training in all aspects of Cardiology. A particular sub-specialty interest in heart failure and cardiac devices is essential. The successful candidate will participate in a 1:6 (moving to 1:7 upon successful recruitment of another post) non-interventional rota with no night-time commitments.

Applicants are required to be on the GMC Specialist Register. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time or those wishing to job share.
