Applications are invited for suitably qualified and experienced individuals for a substantive Consultant post in Diabetes, Endocrinology and General Internal Medicine.

The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospital is the largest university teaching hospital in the Cheshire and Mersey region. It serves a population of approximately 550,000 from across the North West, North Wales and the Isle of Man.  Based on two sites with a bed base of over 1200; the Broadgreen site has over 300 beds and has undergone expansion to accommodate Intermediate Surgery, whilst the Royal Liverpool site accommodates the Accident & Emergency Department, Medical and Surgical specialties, major cancer and critical care bed base. It is the main tertiary centre for Vascular Surgery, ENT, Renal Medicine, Renal Transplant,  Haematology, Ophthalmology and Pancreatic Surgery.  This is an exciting time for the trust as a new hospital due for completion in 2020 is also under current construction on the Royal site. The Trust is working in collaboration with neighboring trusts to develop new model of services.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated Consultant into a full time post which has arisen due to movement of a Consultant colleague covering diabetes, endocrinology and general internal medicine. Successful applicants will join our well established team of 6 consultants, 20 diabetes and endocrine specialist nurses, specialist dietitians and podiatrists. The team also works closely with Orthopaedics, Regional Vascular department, Ophthalmology (St Paul’s eye hospital), renal medicine, endocrinology surgeons, neurosurgeons, nuclear medicine and an HPB team based in the Royal Liverpool hospital, and has close links to the three Liverpool Universities and has a specialist interest in education and training.

You must be on, or within six months of entry to, the Specialist Register and be fully registered with the GMC.
