An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic doctor to join the current Obstetrics and Gynaecology team as a trust FY2 at Barts Health NHS Trust based at Newham University Hospital.

Interested individuals are invited to apply for: one 6 month appointment Barts Health NHS Trust was created on 1 April 2012 and is the largest in the UK. The Women’s Clinical Academic Group is largest combined obstetric service in the UK with over 16,000 deliveries. Barts Health is a founder member of UCL Partners and in addition the Women’s CAG has a strong and active research unit called the Katherine Twining Unit which was established in 2011. The QMUL medical school and the Women’s Health Research (WHRU) unit are integral to our department’s research output.

Individuals will require full GMC Registration. These posts are aimed at UK or Overseas trainee and for EU trained individuals with the appropriate level of clinical experience.

There is a dedicated consultant rota, midwifery rota, a critical care nursing team, pharmacists and therapists. Responsibilities would include day to day care of obstetric patients, assessment of acutely unwell women and attendance at obstetric emergencies. There is a close working relationship with the neonatal and obstetric anaesthetic department.

Opportunities will be given to attend specialist clinics according to the fellow’s individual requirements. Other opportunities include simulator training and other educational courses. This is a non-training post. Newham Hospital offers fantastic opportunities to candidates interested in completing their ATSMs in a number of areas of interest
