Gastroenterology Clinical Fellow (ST3+)
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate to join our Gastroenterology department. The successful candidate will join a team of two ST3+ doctors to deliver middle grade cover in gastroenterology and hepatology service. This is a full-time post and aims to offer the successful applicant the opportunity to expand their gastroenterology and general (internal) medicine experience, within a supportive environment where quality of training and job satisfaction is of paramount importance to the development of the job role.
This is an additional post in order to support our gastroenterology ward cover and outpatient clinic provision. There will also be the opportunity to access endoscopy training. The gastroenterology department offers the full range of specialist gastrointestinal (GI) services expected of a large DGH including diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower GI endoscopy, bowel cancer screening & bowel scope, ERCP and GI stenting, capsule endoscopy & GI physiology (incl. manometry, pH and tests of malabsorption), nutrition, hepatology (incl. viral hepatitis), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and upper GI cancer.
The successful candidate will be encouraged to carry out audit and develop or participate in a research project. There are also a large number of educational opportunities available to the successful candidate including specialist MDTs, hepatology clinics, nutrition ward rounds, IBD clinics and ERCP lists.
