Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, located just 50miles north of London, in partnership with the University of Buckingham, is a University Teaching Hospital. This allows us to attract, train and retain the best doctors. Milton Keynes also offers first class facilities for sport, theatre, music, shopping and dining.
The successful applicant will be expected to participate in teaching both under and postgraduate students associated with the University of Buckingham and will also be expected to support colleagues doing these activities as part of his or her arranged job plan.
This is also an important step towards establishing the trust as a first class center for teaching excellence. The first students arrived on wards in May 2015 and in 2017 a brand new medical school building and postgraduate center was constructed, creating exciting opportunities for all staff in the fields of clinical research and education.
We believe the continued growth of the hospital will allow us to expand and improve our services to offer the very best care to the people of Milton Keynes, and beyond. Currently we are building a brand new Cancer Centre that is due to open at the end of 2019, with further plans to build a new Pathway Centre in 2020. The trust is also moving towards providing staff with free parking towards the end of the year, as part of a staff package of changes announced by the hospitals CEO in the spring.
Doctors considering an application are encouraged to visit the hospital and to meet with potential clinical colleagues. The Chief Executive and/or Medical Director would also be happy to meet with doctors interested in this role, commitments allowing.
