Applications are invited for substantive or Locum Consultant Radiologist posts at Macclesfield District Hospital, East Cheshire NHS Foundation Trust. Successful candidates will join a happy, friendly and enthusiastic group of 8 Consultants, a senior speciality grade doctor and a bunch of highly experienced Radiographers in a beautiful part of Cheshire.

The directorate is seeking 2 full time (10 PA) candidates to provide general Radiology services. Subspecialty interests including Cardiac Imaging, Paediatric and Musculoskeletal imaging and any other interests are desirable. As with all the existing group of Radiologists, these new posts would be expected to provide an all-round General Radiology support including US, CT, MR and Plain film reporting as well as any chosen subspecialty area of expertise. On-call reporting can be performed from home via tele-radiology and overnight CT scans are outsourced to an external company from 8 PM – 8 AM, 7 days a week.

The department offers a high quality CT, MR, US, Plain film and Flouroscopy services. There are regular MDT’s in various modalities. Established links exist with tertiary centres in Manchester, where needed.   New appointees would be encouraged to take up roles in strengthening and furthering these ties. Successful candidates will also be able to join the existing group of Radiologists in any available non-NHS work as soon as possible.

The Radiology department has a proud tradition of being one of the pioneers in Radiographer role extension. We now have a group of reporting radiographers that are a massive support to the system. We are hoping to start providing cardiac imaging services in the near future.
