This is an opportunity to join an energetic, friendly and high-achieving public health team in Barnet Council.

Barnet is invested in prevention and wellbeing agenda across the Council, as evident by our new Corporate Plan: Barnet 2024. We have an ambitious programme across the Council and a commitment to become a ‘Prevention Borough’.

We see Public Health as an integral part of the work of the entire Council and partner organisations including our local NHS and the third sector.

As we are maturing as a standalone Public Health Department in a first year of our existence, we have opportunity to strengthen our senior leadership team. The team will act as system leaders for health and care integration, health in all policies agenda, community engagement and supporting our residents to start well, live well and age well. We want to create healthy places and ensure that healthy choice is an easier choice in Barnet.

We are looking for enthusiastic, innovative and energetic Public Health Consultants who share our vision and passion for improving health and wellbeing outcomes for our residents.

Key skills & experience required: The post holder will be a strong advocate for prevention with a track record of system leadership and innovation. An evidence of value for money expertise will be an asset.

Candidates must be within 6 months of registration on the GMC Specialist Register/GDC Specialist List or UK Public Health Register.

If you would like an informal discussion about this post please contact Dr Tamara Djuretic, Director of Public Health on 07711 784452.

Interviews will take place in the first week of July 2019.

Closing date: 25th August 2019 at 5pm.
