It is in this context, that the University is looking to appoint a Head of the School of Medicine. Reporting to the Pro Vice-Chancellor and Head of College, the postholder will be responsible for the largest School at Cardiff, with c. 1,200 staff and c. 3,200 students. The successful candidate for the role of Head of the School of Medicine will have an outstanding academic record, with an internationally-recognised research profile in a relevant discipline. They will possess exceptional leadership and management capabilities alongside a track record of successful strategic delivery, with the personal authority, presence and expertise to represent the School and further its general interests.
