Paediatric Consultant (with interest in Oncology)

We are currently looking to appoint a suitably qualified Consultant in Paediatrics (with interest in Oncology) on a 10 PA basis.

We are looking for individuals who would relish the opportunities and challenges of delivering high quality care across the Highland Region. The post involves taking a lead role within the Oncology Service within NHS Highland, and participating in a range of general paediatric outpatient clinics and hot week/OnCall responsibilities for the Highland Children’s unit.

The establishment currently comprises 9 hospital consultant paediatricians (5 WTE, 4 part-time 2.9 WTE), 1 combined post 0.9wte) W.T.E in Hospital and community paediatrics and 5 (3.7 WTE) community consultant paediatricians (the latter do not take part in out of hours work).

Applicants who wish to work part time are encouraged to apply. You must be on the General Medical Council Specialist Register with a Licence to Practise or within six months of obtaining CCT in General Medicine at time of interview. Candidates are encouraged to visit the department.

Applicants not currently on the specialist register for general medicine would also be considered for a fixed term contract in the first instance.
