Consultant Physician Geriatric Medicine
- Full Time
East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS organisations in the region, employing over 10,000 staff and serving a population of almost 800,000 residents. By merging Colchester and Ipswich hospitals in July 2018, we can provide the latest treatments locally, and be in a stronger position to save, grow and strengthen the many hospital and community services our residents rely on.
We are an ambitious trust with a simple vision, to provide the communities we serve with excellent healthcare and build a better future for the people of east Suffolk and North Essex. To help us do this, we will work closely with our local partners to deliver more of the joined-up services and care our residents need.
We want the best staff. You want to make a difference.
For our staff and our patients, we have the same philosophy: time matters. This new way of working will remove unnecessary stress and frustration caused by the systems we use and the way we work. We will concentrate on removing or improving the things we do that don't work for our patients. For our staff, this means more time to care for patients and greater opportunities to develop skills and experience.
To be the best, we need to attract and keep the best staff. Our size puts us in a strong position to grow, providing more of the latest services. Our scale provides exciting opportunities for development, innovation, research, education and training. Support from technology and logistics will help us see patients at the right time.
So, if your ambition matches ours, it’s time to work together.
Applications are invited for the posts of Consultant in Older Peoples Services at Colchester and Ipswich Hospitals. You’ll be joining a team of consultants in elderly medicine who provide a comprehensive service for residents of North East Essex and East Suffolk as part of ESNEFT (East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust). This is an exciting time to be joining us. ESNEFT was formed on 1 July 2018 from a merger of Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust and The Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust.
Our larger scale will provide you with opportunities to develop skills and experience, and our time matters philosophy will help us to see patients at the right time, attract and retain the best people and provide the latest treatments locally. We are also developing close links with the academic institutions within our region which would enable us to offer research opportunities in the future if this is something the successful applicants would be interested in developing.
