Cellular therapies represent a potentially transformative treatment modality for solid tumours with early data in melanoma already promising. The successful candidate will be a Medical Oncologist based clinically in the Skin and Renal Units but devoting the majority of their time to supporting the development of cellular therapy research and service across solid tumour types. A key responsibility of this post will be to provide clinical leadership in immune monitoring in conjunction with our NIHR Centre for Molecular Pathology. The post-holder will also be expected to provide leadership of the emerging Royal Marsden cellular therapy group and to lead the development of cellular therapy infrastructure, systems and platforms across both the Chelsea and Sutton campuses. Additionally the post-holder will be expected to support the development of translational research in immuno-oncology across tumour units based on the extensive RM trials portfolio in immunotherapy. A further responsibility will be to disseminate best practice and knowledge of cellular therapies throughout the tumour groups at the Royal Marsden and to facilitate collaborative interdisciplinary working between the multiple teams required for the safe delivery of cellular therapies.

The post-holder will be expected to have a track-record in clinical and/or translational cancer research. Ideally he/she will have appropriate peer-reviewed publications and have attracted peer-reviewed grant funding/fellowship and/or industry funding. In order to fulfil the responsibilities of this post you must be eligible for full GMC registration. Applicants will have their CCT in Medical Oncology or equivalent and a broad-based experience.
