Breast Surgery Clinical Fellow (ST3+Level)
Applications are invited for a full time Breast Surgery Clinical Fellow (ST3+ Level) for 12 months fixed term, with the potential to extend. The role commences on 02/10/19 and applicants should be a ST3+, preferably with some experience in Breast surgery and be looking for further training in surgery for Breast cancer.
The Breast Unit is a leader in the management of screen detected cancer and the axilla and is the biggest user of OSNA in the UK. We offer the full range of breast conservation and reconstructive techniques and have developed a free flap service in conjunction with East Grinstead. We work closely with St Luke’s Cancer Centre which is on site and the Jarvis Screening Centre in Guildford. You will work in our dedicated laminar flow breast theatre and clinics are on site and in our outreach clinics. We also run an oncoplastic fellowship in conjunction with East Grinstead and can offer a high level of oncoplastic training.
The applicant will be one of the senior trainees in on the Breast Unit, supported by 2x SpR, 2x ‘SHO’ and 1x FY1 doctors. You will be part of the general surgery on call rota which comprises one week of block on call from Monday – Thursday; and weekend days (Friday – Sunday) and weekend nights (Friday and Saturday) on a 1:12 basis.
