In this role, you’ll be required to cover the wide spectrum of work that occurs within the Trust including full Breast and Bowel Cancer Services. We are flexible with regard to developing the successful applicant’s area of special interest and we have close links to our tertiary centres at Southampton and Portsmouth Hospitals. The department has great support from an enthusiastic laboratory team which includes an Advanced Practitioner in Specimen Dissection. The department has full UKAS ISO 15189:2012 accreditation.
Isle of Wight NHS Trust serves a resident population of 138,000 though boosted in holiday season and is one of the few truly integrated organisations in the country. We combine acute, ambulance, mental health and community services.
The Island is a great place to work and live with excellent opportunities for outdoor pursuits. Connections to the mainland are frequent and fast with ferry/rail links with Portsmouth, Southampton and Lymington (London can be reached in approximately 90 minutes by rail from Southampton & Portsmouth).
The key features of the job are, 10 PAs a week; these can be compressed into three/ four longer days to help deliver more flexible working patterns and provide a desirable work/life balance.
