Consultant in Haematopathology
(Haemato-Oncology Diagnostic Service)
Applications are invited for two full-time (10PAs) Consultant Haematologists to be placed in the Haemato-Oncology Diagnostic Service (HODS) at Addenbrooke’s Hospital part at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH).
The successful candidate will join an established multidisciplinary team to support the diagnosis and management of haematological malignancies.
HODS acts as a Regional Referral Centre for the East of England, providing the full range of clinical and laboratory services. This is a new post to support significant expansion of the catchment area for the Service.
The post holder will have specific responsibilities for the provision and development of specialist diagnostic services within the HODS. The role will require collaboration with regional hospital colleagues. Strong links exist between HODS and multiple Cambridge University research groups working on haematological malignancies and also with the Sanger Institute in the context of developing new genomic approaches to diagnosis.
Applicants should have experience of Diagnostic Haematopathology, from either a Histopathology or Haematology background, together with an interactive approach to working with clinical and academic colleagues.
Applicants are required to be on the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.
