This is an excellent opportunity for a progressive ambitious Orthodontist with an interest in interdisciplinary working. Milton Keynes University Hospital is a modern and progressive NHS Foundation Trust continually developing to meet the needs of the population growth of the local area.
Applications are invited to apply for a Substantive Consultant in Orthodontics at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
This is a replacement post, offering 7 programmed activities including multidisciplinary clinics and SPA. Additional programmed activities may be available upon agreement.
The Maxillofacial and Orthodontic Department is situated in the Outpatients building. It is purpose built and has recently undergone a complete refurbishment and is equipped with new state-of-the-art facilities. The department has its own in-house digital imaging facility, a Maxillofacial/Orthodontic laboratory and a dedicated clinical photography service.
The clinical team is fully supported by a team of highly trained dental nurses and two full-time Maxillofacial/Orthodontic Technologists who are able to manufacture the full range of orthodontic appliances.
The successful applicant will join two Consultant Orthodontist colleagues and one OMFS Consultant. They will have a close working relationship with the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons to continue the established orthognathic service. They are actively encouraged to participate in the local MCN.
Milton Keynes University Hospital is collaborating closely with Buckingham University to establish a new dental school on site “The University of Buckingham Dental Institute”

Milton Keynes University Hospital has excellent post-graduate facilities; combined with the superb resource of the on-site Academic Centre of the University of Buckingham Medical School MKUH clinicians are presented with many opportunities for ongoing professional development.
Applicants must be fully registered with the GDC and have completed the appropriate specialty training programme (or be within 6 months of accreditation) or equivalent and be on the relevant GDC Specialist Register. Please see person specification for full details.
