Duties/Abilities
Surgical, Anaesthetics and Procedural Services are looking for a Senior Registrar or Registrar (Hepatology Fellow) to join their team.

The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Senior Registrar or Registrar (Hepatology Fellow) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to over 550,000 people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of
Australia.

You will be responsible for

  • The Hepatology Fellow will be post completion of Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) fellowship in Gastroenterology (or equivalent) and be eligible for medical registration in Australia. Pre FRACP-applicants will also be considered
  • The Fellow will be available after hours in accordance with the advanced trainee after hours roster
  • Requirements for personal attributes and work ethics are in accordance to the Code of Conduct for all Queensland Public Service Workers 2011. Principles and values such as integrity and impartiality, promoting the public good, commitment to the system of government, accountability and transparency are to be adhered to
  • Clinical duties and responsibilities will be in between those of an advanced gastroenterology trainee and a consultant gastroenterologist and involve outpatient, ward based and procedure-based care

Requirements for the role

  • It is a condition of employment in this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment: insert relevant VPD categories as required by HR Policy B1 measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), pertussis (whooping cough) and hepatitis B
  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or one of the following boards below
  • The Hepatology Fellow will have completed their two years of core gastroenterology training and be eligible for medical registration in Australia
  • While not mandatory, additional qualifications such as previous experience in research or a formal research degree, evidence of publications and presentations pertinent to the job would be desirable for appointment
  • Senior Registration pay Level 10 – 13 (only available for applicants with a FRACP qualification)

Salary information

  • Temporary full time (16.03.2020 to 02.02.2021)
  • Base salary ranging from Senior Registrar (L10-L13) $5411.90 -  $5963.70 p.f., Registrar (L4-L9) $4243.60 - $5963.70 p.f.
  • Up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading

About Surgical, Anaesthetics and Procedural Services
The successful applicant will join a team of 20 Gastroenterologists with sub-specialty interests in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), hepatology, nutrition, and therapeutic endoscopy. The endoscopy unit performs about 8000+ procedures annually with a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic
modalities.
