Consultant Community Paediatrician

We are seeking a consultant community paediatrician, to join our team of Paediatricians. This post is a full time (10 PA) post to join the team of Consultant Paediatricians in this integrated department of Paediatrics. The post holder will join 3 other community paediatricians and work across the catchment area covered by the paediatric services in the Trust. Please see the full job description available on the NHS jobs website. There are no general paediatric acute on call duties attached to this post.
The Child Development Centre is part of a multiagency centre at Conygre in Tipton. Neuro-developmental clinics take place in the centre. Community paediatricians also run clinics in special schools and hospitals in the Trust and are supported by community children’s nurses. A children’s audiology service is based at the Lyng centre for Health & Wellbeing and in the premises of City Hospital. A full range of community children’s services is provided by the Trust.
We are passionate about our ethos and philosophy and are driven to provide the best care for our patients. A clinical skills lab is embedded within the unit allowing emphasis on education within the department.
The Paediatric Medicine department is renowned for being a popular site for trainees who have a regular in-house teaching programme. Trainees are also involved in teaching and education. Feedback from the Foundation trainees is one of the best within the Trust. The department has regular presentations at local, national and international meetings of its work, services and innovation.
The successful candidate will be within 6 months of CCT Paediatrics.

Birmingham is a very green city with more than 8,000 acres of green space including impressive parks. Due to our central location and good motorway connections we are in easy reach of a number of beautiful rural locations including the Peak District, Cannock Chase, the Lickey Hills and the Cotswolds.
