Applications are invited for and exciting new post of Consultant Rheumatologist (full or part time) within Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation trust. The successful applicant will join a well-established multi-disciplinary team of doctors, specialist nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, podiatrists and pharmacists.
The Rheumatology Department in the trust operates across the large geographic region of Northumberland and North Tyneside, and clinics are undertaken at our three General Hospitals (Wansbeck, North Tyneside and Hexham), a number of community hospitals and clinics, and a visiting service is delivered into the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will deliver general rheumatology clinics, and also contribute to the development of the service. Ultrasound experience would be favourable, and the department would be supportive of further ultrasound training.
The successful candidate will be a good team player who will be key to the delivery of the service, and support the training of junior doctors and Advanced Clinical Practitioners within the department. There is no GIM commitment within this job, though this can be offered to those who desire it.
