We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic, innovative and progressive Consultant Radiologists to join our Imaging Consultant team at an exciting time for the department. We can accommodate any subspecialty interests but in particular in Cardiothoracics, Head and Neck, MSK, Paediatrics and Nuclear Medicine.
We aspire to provide a proactive and responsive radiology service that has positive impact on patient care. We have ambitious plans, but with additional investment in the department secured by the executive team to realise this goal, and with the right team, we look forward to achieving this.
The Trust has a strong leadership programme and supports consultants with aspirations in management. If you are interested in developing your management skills you may be interested in applying for one of or newly created specialty lead roles.
You would join our large, dynamic team of 27 Consultant Radiologists working at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals who are developing new ways of working (separating inpatient and outpatient flow) and working with clinicians in other specialties to further improve patient pathways and with outsourcing support to maintain our ambitious report turnaround times.
We have introduced home reporting potentially giving you the opportunity to home report as part of your DCC.
We have a Managed Equipment Service ensuring seamless replacement of old equipment with new, top of the range scanners. We have recently acquired a Fusion USS scanner through this contract, and 2 new CT scanners and 1 MRI scanner will be installed this year. PET CT will soon be available on site too, expanding our range of nuclear medicine services.
We have also recently acquired a new PACS (Merge PACS). We are working closely with world class developers to advance the use of Artificial Intelligence, thus facilitating more a more accurate and timely Imaging service.
The Consultant Radiologists work on both main sites, City Hospital, Birmingham and Sandwell General Hospital and will also work at the state of the art 670 bed Midland Metropolitan Hospital which will open in 2022 and will bring together all acute services onto one site.
